Day 1

Day 1 of the Race Round the Farm CX Race was a blast!  The venue was on a privately owned and operated working farm, complete with farm animals.  The kids were particularly enchanted with the turkeys.  The course itself was challenging, but tons of fun with run-ups, tough climbs, tight turns, and long straight-aways.  The sunny 60 degree weather couldn't have been better.  It was a fast start, and the pace continue high for the entire race.  Liam lead the junior boys for the entire race, coming in 1st.  Barrett had a tough time out, riding 2 laps on a flat.  He swapped bikes and kept moving, finishing 5th overall.  Emma lead the girls all the way to the finish, coming in an impressive 3 minutes and 42 seconds over 2nd place Alyssa, with Avery coming in for the final podium spot in 3rd.

Race Round the Farm - Day 2

Day 2 was just as fun as day one, although decidedly more challenging.  The course was changed up a bit and proved to be tough for everyone out there - adults and juniors alike.  The Dynamix crew went out strong.  Liam lead the entire race, but was in close contention with Randy on the first lap.  Barrett was just behind the leaders in 4th and held on strong the entire race, missing the podium by just a few seconds.  Emma and Alyssa battled it out in the first 2 laps, but Alyssa began to gain distance on Emma and finished 1st.  All 3 Dynamix riders had such a great time in the first race they decided to stick around and race again in Cat 4/5!  All in all, it was a great weekend!!

Day 1 - Turkey Burner p/b Bicycles of Phoenix

After a 2 week break from CX racing, the Dynamix crew was back at it for the Turkey Burner Cross Race sponsored by Bicycles of Phoenix.  It was a cold morning, but the kids quickly warmed up and were ready to race.  The course was challenging with many areas of loose dirt, gravel, and mud.  There was some stiff competition for both junior girls and boys with some teenagers in the mix.  On the start line, Avery realized she had a flat.  After quickly adding some air, she was ready to start.  There were many flats to be had on the day!  Unfortunately, Avery flatted again on the last lap.  But, she dug deep and kept with it to finish 3rd overall on the day.  Emma and Liam had solid races, both coming in 2nd.

Day 2 - BH Bikes Cycle-Cross powered by SRAM p/b VR7

The team was back at it for day 2 of racing out at Horse Lover's Park for the BH Bike CX race.  After some bike maintenance overnight (mainly on the tires!), we were ready to race.  The race course was shortened and reversed from yesterday.  It proved to be just as challenging as day one.  Liam fought hard to get his first CX win of the season!  Emma battled newcomer Alyssa the entire race, but got passed in the last stretch.  It was Morgan for the win again, followed by Alyssa in 2nd, Emma in 3rd, and Avery in 4th.  Another fun CX racing weekend!

Triple C Cyclocross Weekend - Tucson, AZ

It was a whirlwind weekend for the Dynamix crew - 2 full days of racing at the Triple C Cyclocross Race in Tucson, AZ.  We had 3 racers out this weekend giving it their all for a total of 4 races.  A big thanks to Deanna Young for the awesome pics and to AZ Cross for another fantastic race weekend!

Day 1

All 3 of our racers participated in the juniors 9-18 race.  It was a tough battle for both the girls and boys on a challenging course.  Emma battled it out with some tough competition to take 1st overall.  Liam and Barrett also faced a tough crowd, finishing in 2nd and 4th respectively.

After the juniors race, the boys chose to participate in the Men's Cat 5 race to get more practice on the course.  They significantly improved their dismount and remount skills.  Both of them completed the race and looked great!

Day 2

The course was reversed for day 2.  Some new barriers were added, making this course far more challenging than the previous day.  The junior boys had some tough competition with the addition of 4 racers all over 14.  The field for the girls remained the same as the previous day.  Liam and Barrett looked strong on course, finishing 5th and 6th respectively, just behind the teenagers.  Emma crashed on the first lap to find herself dead last.  She battled all the way back to 1st to take the win!  All 3 kids showed an amazing amount of grit and determination on this tough course.  They all chose to race again in the Men's Cat 5 and Women's Cat 4.  These kids are an inspiration!

Flagstaff Cyclocross Weekend

Another weekend, another great race!  We were up in Flagstaff this weekend supporting our kiddos for the 2nd CX race of the season.  The weather was chilly and the course was challenging.  All 3 racers looked great out there!  They persevered up and over some very challenging barriers to grab podium spots:  3 racers - 3 podium finishes.  Next stop - Tucson for back to back races next weekend!
